Rugged Rocks
Have you ever gotten that urge to drop everything, book a flight to Australia, and call it a day? Well, having lived in Australia for a while, I can see why you’d want to explore the brilliance of this country; its beautiful beaches, vast lands, and rugged rocks are what attracts thousands of tourists here on a yearly basis.
And so, it’s time for you to explore the vastness of Uluru, Ayers Rock in the heart of the outback. Uluru is a massive rustic sandstone rock formation located in the southern part of The Northern Territory in central Australia. With the nearest town miles and miles away, this sacred spot is home to a plethora of rock caves, ancient paintings, springs, and waterholes. As a World Heritage Site, the spot is sacred to the Anangu, The Aboriginal people of the area, and as you embark on your trip Down Under be sure to respect the rugged-ness of the rocks.
The massive sandstone formation stands 348 meters tall, and is 9.4 km in circumference. One of the mystical things about Uluru is that it appears to change color at different times of the day. From a glowing red at dawn and sunset to a rustic red as the sun shines, the sight surely is a thing to see. With a majority of rare plant species in Central Australia found in Uluru, and home to unique animal species, the spot is idyllic no matter which way you look at it. Pay respects to this sacred spot by capturing the beauty of it on film, it truly will be a keepsake for life.
