The Dubai Fountain is a spectacular example of man-made entertainment. Situated on man-made Burj Khalifa Lake in front of the Dubai Mall, this fountain shoots water as high as 500 ft while illuminated by 6,600 lights and 25 coloured projectors. This record setting choreographed fountain system was developed by WET, the same company who also developed the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas.

The fountains feature over 25 different performances to music that ranges from Butterfly Lover Violin Concerto to Whitney Huston to Sama Dubai, a tribute to Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed. The fabulous show can be seen from all angles around the lake as well as from a number of surrounding buildings, but the beam of light from the fountain can be seen from over 20 miles away and from space!

There’s one thing I always wonder when I see something this spectacular as if I wanted to purchase one similar for my own personal enjoyment. How much did this cost? This particular attraction cost $218, wait for it, million dollars! (In American dollars)

The Dubai Fountain isn’t the only entertainment available at the Dubai Mall. Kids will enjoy Kidzania, an educational entertainment center where kids can understand the world of grown-ups with over 80 rolls to choose from, including surgeons, firefighters, chefs, actors, artists, jewelry designers and mechanics. They will also love the SEGA indoor theme park with 9 attractions and 250 amusement games! Enjoy the Dubai Ice Rink, go to the top of the mall for panoramic views of one of the world’s most dynamic cities or visit the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo for a look under the surface.
