Sand Dunes At Its Best
Picture this; you’re surrounded my immense vegetation, but all you can see straight down from you is a postcard picture perfect beach, with a massive pillow-white sand dune awaiting you. Ponta Negra Beach, Natal, Brazil’s most famous beach holds to all things perfect, including white sandy beaches, the brightest blue of waters, jangadas (multicolored fishing boats) and barracas (tents and huts serving local delicacies). As you stroll along Ponta Negra, you’ll notice the extreme north beach of Via Costeira and the extreme south beach of Morro do Careca.
Standing as still as can be at Morro do Careca, you may be tempted to surf down the dune, but today the dunes are closed to protect this majestic spot. I have to say though, as much as you may want to slide down that dune, just standing in front of it and taking in its 120 meter high, with vegetation surrounding it is a sight to see.
With luxury hotels, adventures in and around the water, boutiques and restaurants lining the shoes of Ponta Negra Beach, you’ll stroll along the beach and just take in the beauty of it. Once you’ve done a whole photo-opt in front of the dunes, take in the sights and sounds of the city as you venture off along Coastal Way (Via Costeira). The path allows easy access to the urban beaches, and the southern tip of Ponta Negra. Mass in this beaches majestic ways, as you lounge out and soak up the sun on the most famous beach along this side of the coast.
