If you have a love for cowboy boots, cowboy hats, and cowboys, The Calgary Stampede is the place for you. The Stampede has been shining its country western culture for the past 100 years. Thousands of people come up to Calgary, Alberta at the beginning of July (July 6-12th to be exact) and take in the beauty of the western culture.
With rodeos, exhibits, the infamous parade, markets, the midway, and the Rangeland Derby, you’re few days at The Stampede will be filled with all things country. Of course, if you have a deep love for country and dancing the two-step, than you’ll fit right in with the hoards of tourists that flock here for a week of partying all night long. Let your days be filled with all things country, and your nights filled with all things erratic.
Exploring The Stampede is certainly a memorable task. Strolling through The Stampede Market at The BMO Centre is where you’ll be lured into purchasing memorabilia of the festival. From everything to western-themed artwork to good old sweet tasting wine, you’ll be able to get your hands on some pretty unique stuff. The exhibits at The Stampede have total ‘wow’ factor to them. With over 1,000 exhibitors showcasing agricultural demonstrations this is the time to get down and dirty, western style.
And to top it all off; the rodeo. The rodeo is at the heart of The Stampede as it’s one of the most famous events of its kind in the world. With championship cowboys strutting their stuff, it’s no wonder anyone and everyone makes it down to the Sunday finals to see who is the next best cowboy/cowgirl in town. The fancy cowboy hats, demonstrations like no other and the rodeo deemed the best of its kind, it’s certainly no wonder why country-lovin’ folks come on up to The Stampede, you can’t find anything like it.
