Peach Be With You
One of the things I love about the summer is all of the fresh fruit that is bursting at the seams in my fridge. It’s like you can finally enjoy the fruits of our labours from around your hometown. And of course, with all of the fresh berries and fruits, comes a whole plethora of festivals through The USA. One festival in particular that caught my eye was The Winona Peach Festival. Held during the month of August (24th-26th) when the peaches are at their peak of ripeness and juiciness.
The festival consists of 20 various community churches, service organizations and sports teams coming together to celebrate this juicy little fruit, and golly gosh do they know how to celebrate their peaches. At the festival you’ll not only get to taste a peach or two, but there is an Arts & Craft section catering to the young and old, music stages, a ‘Peach of a Car Show’, a Queen and Princess Peach Pageant and a kids amusement area. Of course the very best part of the festival is the Festival Food Court, where you can dabble into all things peach-like.
And if you’re looking to top your peach cobbler with a cherry on top, well than venture off to The Grand Peach Ball that occurs prior to the festival where a dinner dance is about celebrating the bountiful harvests of the land.
With a weekend of free admission, fun for the whole family and good wholesome peaches anywhere and everywhere you look, The Winona Peach Festival is the place for you.
